We're on the run

for healthy habits.

We reduce risk

The Prevention Council of Roanoke is a community coalition which seeks to identify the critical risk behaviors and substance abuse issues that threaten the health and development of our local community.

As a nonprofit 501c3, we've been dedicated to building stronger, healthier communities since 2001. Together.

The various projects you see above focus on localized approaches that include:

  • Parental Education

  • Community Engagement

  • Youth Empowerment and Leadership

  • Ground-up Research

  • Local Partnerships

As a mash-up of research-proven methodologies and barrier-busting innovative strategies, we're singularly-focused on fostering a brighter, healthier future for the communities we serve.

Our team

As a team-oriented nonprofit, reliant upon the big hearts and collaborative spirit found within the communities we serve.

Volunteers

We often have events and initiatives that are dependent on the dedication of volunteers. If you have an interest in volunteering in the future, please let us know your interest.

Board Members

Our all-volunteer Board of Directors bring diverse experience to their role and responsibility of oversight to steer our organization with fiscal responsibility and enthusiastic oomph.

Advisors to The Board

A critical cadre of talented advisors provide us the specialized support and guidance that enable us to innovate and create with big thinking.

Community Partners

True community is built around collaboration and cooperation. We work in concert with some of the best and brightest partners one could ever hope for. A rising tide lifts all boats.
